Job Summary
HCLTech's Modern Application Development practice helps clients modernize legacy applications and move to cloud-native, AI-native platforms. We are seeking an Application Modernization Practice Leader to own the strategy, delivery, and growth of our Application Modernization business. This role requires deep expertise in using Agentic AI to modernize legacy applications and the ability to lead a large, global delivery team while working closely with sales and presales on new business. A core part of this role is building differentiation for HCLTech in the market, including ownership of the product management and evolution of our AI-led modernization platform, and ownership of our analyst and advisor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities Practice Leadership • Own the overall strategy, growth, and P&L for the Application Modernization practice. • Build and scale a global team of architects, engineers, and delivery leads, anchored out of our Hyderabad, Noida, and Bangalore hubs. • Set the technical direction for how Agentic AI is used across the modernization lifecycle, including code analysis, refactoring, testing, and migration. Agentic AI-led Modernization • Lead the adoption of agentic AI tools and frameworks to automate legacy code understanding, dependency mapping, and refactoring at scale. • Guide clients on how to sequence and govern agent-led modernization programs, including guardrails, human review checkpoints, and risk management. • Partner with hyperscalers and agent framework providers to bring the latest capabilities into client engagements. Delivery Excellence • Own delivery quality, timelines, and margins across all Application Modernization engagements. • Put in place reusable accelerators, delivery frameworks, and quality benchmarks that can be applied across clients and industries. • Track delivery risks early and put in place mitigation plans in partnership with account and delivery leadership. Platform Ownership and Market Differentiation • Own the product management and ongoing evolution of the team's AI-led modernization platform, working closely with engineering to prioritize the roadmap. • Build cutting edge tooling and accelerators that help clients realize modernization benefits faster than manual or generic approaches. • Use the platform as a core point of differentiation for HCLTech in the market, and position it clearly against competing offerings.
