Job Summary

The IT Program Director is responsible for leading and governing a portfolio of strategic technology programs that support business objectives and digital transformation initiatives. The role provides executive oversight for multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business strategy, successful delivery, financial performance, stakeholder satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and execute IT program strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams.
  • Drive digital transformation, modernization, cloud, data, and application initiatives.
  • Establish governance frameworks, KPIs, and program management standards.

Program & Portfolio Management

  • Lead multiple large-scale programs and cross-functional projects.
  • Manage program scope, budget, schedule, risks, dependencies, and benefits realization.
  • Ensure delivery within agreed timelines, quality standards, and financial targets.
  • Track and report program health to senior leadership.

Financial Management

  • Own program budgets, forecasts, resource plans, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor revenue, margin, and contractual commitments where applicable.
  • Develop business cases and investment proposals.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the executive point of contact for customers, business leaders, and vendors.
  • Conduct steering committee reviews and executive status reporting.
  • Manage escalations and drive issue resolution.

People Leadership

  • Lead Program Managers, Project Managers, Architects, Business Analysts, and delivery teams.
  • Build high-performing teams through mentoring, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, governance, and audit requirements.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and dependencies.
  • Maintain delivery quality and operational resilience.

Skill Requirements

15+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in Program/Portfolio Management.Proven success managing large enterprise transformation programs.Strong experience in Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.Expertise in stakeholder management and executive communication.Experience managing global delivery teams and multimillion-dollar budgets.Knowledge of Cloud (Azure/AWS), Data & Analytics, ERP, Application Modernization, and Digital Transformation programs.Strong financial, risk, and vendor management skills.
