Job Summary

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Scrum Master with a strong technical background to join our dynamic Agile team. The ideal candidate will be a servant-leader, coach, and facilitator who not only guides the team in Scrum practices but also possesses a deep understanding of technical concepts and development processes. This role is crucial in ensuring our development teams are efficient, productive, and equipped to deliver high-quality products. Will support up to 3 Agile teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Scrum Events: Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, time-boxed, and effective.
  • Remove Impediments: Identify, track, and actively remove impediments that hinder the development team's progress, leveraging technical knowledge to understand and address complex technical blockers.
  • Coach and Mentor: Coach team members in self-management, cross-functionality, and adherence to Scrum values, principles, and practices. Provide guidance and mentorship on Agile methodologies and technical best practices.
  • Foster Collaboration: Promote a collaborative environment within the Scrum team and between the team, Product Owner, and stakeholders. Act as a liaison to facilitate effective communication.
  • Technical Understanding: Utilize a strong technical background to understand the development workflow, technical challenges faced by the team, and the product being built. This enables more informed facilitation and support for technical discussions.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement: Guide the team in adopting and refining Agile and Scrum practices to continuously improve their processes, productivity, and product quality.
  • Protect the Team: Shield the development team from external distractions and unnecessary interference, allowing them to focus on delivering value.
  • Support Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner with effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management techniques, ensuring clarity and conciseness in backlog items.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Support the team in creating high-value Increments that meet the Definition of Done and encourage the adoption of relevant technical practices (e.g., DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing) where appropriate.
  • Organizational Adoption: Help the broader organization understand and adopt Scrum and Agile principles through training, coaching, and advising.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Solid understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies, including their values, principles, and practices.
  • Strong technical background, with familiarity in software development concepts, workflows, and potentially specific technologies relevant to our industry.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and servant-leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build trust within the team and organization.
  • Familiarity with Agile Metrics Portal (AMP) metrics to aid in continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage project teams in the successful execution of projects using agile methodologies.
2. Act as a scrum master, facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
4. Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
5. Implement change management processes to address any scope changes or project deviations.
6. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and agile best practices within the project team.
7. Report project status, issues, and risks to stakeholders and senior management.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficient in agile methodologies and experienced in acting as a scrum master.
2. Solid understanding of project management and change management principles.
3. Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide project teams towards successful project delivery.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and team members effectively.
5. Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a fast paced environment.
6. Problem-solving skills to address project challenges and ensure project objectives are met.

1.Agile or Scrum Master certification is preferred.

Minimum Salary (US):  122000

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
