Python Senior Technical Lead - Data Analysis, SQL

Job Summary

    • Overview: We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support our Quality Data & Analytics team. This role will focus on gathering and refining business requirements, translating them into actionable user stories, and supporting management of development and test team members in completion and migration to Production for specified features. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, has extensive experience analyzing large and complex data sets, understands database and Power BI fundamentals, and has experience with Agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit and clarify requirements. Support the process with ad-hoc data analysis and exploration as needed.
    • Document detailed functional requirements and create user stories for both back-end development in Microsoft Fabric and front-end development in Power BI.
    • Partner with developers and data engineers to decompose tasks and track progress through Agile sprints.
    • Assist with testing and validation of Power BI reports and underlying data models.
    • Write and execute complex SQL queries and conduct follow on analysis in Excel or other platforms as needed to confirm Power BI reports are functioning as expected.
    • Work with data from multiple systems, including TrackWise, ComplianceQuest, and SAP, integrated into Microsoft Fabric.
    • Support production issues related to existing reports and data pipelines.

Skill Requirements

    • 3+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role in data and analytics projects.
    • Strong communications skills via oral briefing and written documentation.
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries with multiple joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and aggregate functions for data validation and analysis.
    • Experience with Power BI and understanding of semantic models and data views including experience designing new reports or modifying existing reports.
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery (experience preferred, but not mandatory).
    • Ability to work with Microsoft Fabric or similar data platforms (experience preferred, but not mandatory).

Other Requirements

  • Nice-to-Have
    • Familiarity with SAP data structures, particularly with FI/CO (Finance & Controlling) and MM (Materials Management) modules.
    • Knowledge of ComplianceQuest, Salesforce and/or TrackWise data structures.
    • Experience building an AI bot or data structures to support AI
  • Additional Details
    • Location: Remote. Live meetings conducted via Microsoft Teams for regular and ad-hoc meetings.
    • Work Schedule: 40 hrs/week with expectation of availability during core hours 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM Pacific Standard Time
