SAP ABAP S4 Hana Senior Technical Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP + ABAP Developer with strong expertise in S/4HANA Public Cloud environments. The role focuses on developing cloud-compliant extensions using ABAP and SAP BTP while adhering to clean core principles and upgrade-safe development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance ABAP applications in S/4HANA Public Cloud landscape
  • Develop and manage RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms)
  • Build and optimize CDS Views, AMDP, and HANA-based data models
  • Develop APIs and services using OData and REST frameworks
  • Design and develop side-by-side extensions using SAP BTP (Extension Suite)
  • Work with RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) and CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
  • Implement enhancements using BAdIs and in-app extensibility
  • Integrate SAP with external systems using APIs and SAP BTP Integration Suite
  • Optimize performance using HANA pushdown techniques
  • Collaborate with functional teams to translate business requirements
  • Ensure adherence to clean core, upgrade-safe, and cloud extensibility principles
  • Support testing, go-live, and post-production activities

Skill Requirements

Required Skills – Must Have

  • 6–8 years of strong SAP ABAP development experience
  • Hands-on experience in S/4HANA (preferably Public Cloud)
  • Strong expertise in OO ABAP and modern syntax
  • Experience with CDS Views, AMDP, BRF+
  • Experience in OData services, APIs, and integrations
  • Hands-on with ABAP Development Tools (ADT / Eclipse)
  • Knowledge of RAP model and extensibility techniques
  • Understanding of SAP BTP services (Extension Suite, Integration Suite)
  • Experience with performance tuning using HANA pushdown
  • Knowledge of Clean Core principles

Good to Have

  • Experience with SAP BTP CAP model
  • Exposure to SAP Fiori / UI5 development
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines on BTP
  • Knowledge of Event Mesh or API Management
  • SAP Certification in ABAP / S/4HANA / BTP
