Job Summary

The Senior Technical Lead with a focus on SAP ABAP Programming Basics is responsible for leading technical teams, managing projects, and ensuring the successful implementation of SAP ABAP projects. This role involves analyzing requirements, designing solutions, coding, and testing applications to meet business needs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and mentor technical teams in the development and implementation of sap abap solutions
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
3. Design, develop, and test sap abap programs to support business processes
4. Provide technical expertise and guidance on system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations
5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring systems are efficient and stable
6. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve technical solutions

Skill Requirements

Objective & Role Summary

Broad SAP technical leadership for a fast-paced HQ role, with Scrum Master backup capability as needed. This resource primarily provides SAP technical direction, direct coordination with Product Owners, stakeholders and leadership, and supports delivery governance, onboarding oversight, capacity monitoring and cross-pod planning without replacing the dedicated Scrum Master role.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong SAP ABAP background across multiple modules and integration patterns.
  • Experience leading technical design reviews, code reviews, quality checks and release readiness.
  • Scrum Master or Agile delivery support experience, including ceremony backup, impediment tracking and delivery metrics awareness.
  • SAFe, Scrum or SAP development certifications preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task across competing initiatives while maintaining delivery discipline.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SAP technical solutioning and development oversight across modules and financial workflows.
  • Provide backup support for Scrum ceremonies, sprint execution and backlog readiness discussions when needed, while the dedicated Scrum Master owns routine Agile facilitation.
  • Coordinate onboarding oversight, capacity monitoring, and cross-pod planning support from HQ.
  • Mentor developers design quality, reusable patterns, peer reviews, and documentation.
  • Support release planning, production cutover, hyper care and incident triage.

 

Key Deliverables

  • Technical architecture notes, code review observations, and quality improvement actions.
  • Delivery governance inputs including risks, impediments, dependencies, capacity observations and technical delivery health updates.
  • Onboarding oversight inputs, capacity observations, and cross-pod planning notes.
  • Release readiness and support transition documentation.

Technical & Functional Competencies

  • SAP ABAP, S/4HANA development landscape, Fiori backend enablement and integration technologies.
  • Agile facilitation, servant leadership and structured follow-through.
  • HQ-facing communication, stakeholder coordination and multi-workstream execution.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
