SAP ABAP Technical Lead

Job Summary

Senior SAP ABAP Developer (HCM / HR Focus)(Band E2.1)

5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development with focus on HR ABAP/HCM Development

Strong Experience in S/4HANA or modern ABAP development (CDS Views, AMDP, OData, RAP) is expected

Good experience in core ABAP concepts: Reports, ALV, Enhancements (User Exits/BAdIs), Smart Forms/SAP Scripts is also required

Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor or similar tools) is an advantage

Good understanding of HR processes: Personnel Administration (PA), Organizational Management (OM), Time Management (TM), Payroll (basic to intermediate understanding)

Experience working with Infotypes and HR tables, Logical Databases (PNP/PNPCE), Payroll clusters is preferred

Strong exposure to integration technologies: IDocs, BAPIs / HR Function Modules, File-based and API integrations

Strong debugging and performance tuning skills.

Understanding of data privacy and security considerations in HR systems.

Experience working in projects with high interface volume and complex integrations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Ability to balance support and project work in a fast-paced environment.

Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the technical team in sap abap programming basics to achieve project objectives
2. Design, develop, and implement sap abap solutions according to project requirements
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
4. Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of sap abap programs
5. Provide technical guidance and support to team members on sap abap best practices
6. Stay updated on the latest sap abap trends and technologies to enhance project delivery

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in sap abap development including abap workbench, ddic, sap scripts, smart forms, and alv reports
2. Strong knowledge of sap modules and integration points within sap ecosystem
3. Experience in developing and optimizing sap abap programs and interfaces
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues in sap abap
5. Good understanding of sap development methodologies and best practices
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams

Other Requirements

1.SAP Certified Development Professional ABAP with SAP NetWeaver (If any)
