Role Overview:

As a Senior ABAP Developer, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex technical solutions within the SAP ECC environment. This role requires a deep mastery of core ABAP and a proven track record of delivering technical excellence specifically within the SAP SD, MM, FI/CO, VIM, PP, EWM etc. You will act as a technical authority, ensuring high-performance code and seamless integration across the financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, Develop, and Enhance:
• Develop and implement RICEF objects – Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms.
• Create Classical, Interactive, and ALV reports using object-oriented ABAP.
• Develop and maintain BAPIs, BDC, IDocs, and RFCs for seamless system integration.
• Handle performance tuning and SQL optimization to enhance system efficiency.
• Enhancements and Customization:
• Implement and manage User Exits, Customer Exits, BTE, and BADIs.
• Work with Enhancement Spots and implement customized solutions.
• Integration and Interface Development:
• Develop and maintain Interfaces using BAPI, RFC, IDocs, Proxies and OData.
• Configure and troubleshoot ALE-EDI IDocs, Flat Files, and other data exchange formats.
• System Performance and Maintenance:
• Conduct ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) checks and Code Inspector (SCI) reviews.
• Optimize database queries and ensure effective use of indexes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to performance and stability.
• Project Management and Leadership:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (functional and technical) to gather requirements.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.

Skill Requirements

Required Skills:

• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
• Expertise in RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms(Scripts/Smartforms/Adobeforms).
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) and performance tuning techniques
• Proficiency in SAP ALE-IDocs, Proxies, BAPI, RFC, BDC, Enhancements and ALV Reporting.
• Experience with Enhancement Framework – User Exits, BADIs, and Enhancement Spots.
• Good understanding of SAP functional modules – SD, MM, FICO, VIM, PP, EWM etc.
• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies – ALE/EDI IDocs, OData, Web Services, and PI/PO.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
