Job Summary

SAP Basis Consultant – SAP Release Management (ChaRM in Solution Manager)

Experienced SAP Basis Consultant with expertise in SAP Release Management, Change and Transport Management (ChaRM), SAP Solution Manager, transport governance, system administration, and production support. Skilled in managing end-to-end transport movements, release deployments, system refreshes, cutover activities, and change lifecycle management across complex SAP landscapes. Proven ability to ensure compliant, stable, and risk-free releases while maintaining high system availability and business continuity.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Administer and support SAP Change and Release Management processes using SAP Solution Manager (ChaRM).
  • Configure, maintain, and monitor ChaRM workflows, change documents, and transport management processes.
  • Coordinate end-to-end transport movement across Development, QA, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
  • Manage Normal Changes, Urgent Changes, Administrative Changes, and Release Cycles within ChaRM.
  • Validate transport sequences, dependencies, retrofit activities, and import queues before deployment.
  • Collaborate with SAP Functional, ABAP, Security, Infrastructure, and Business teams for release readiness.
  • Execute and monitor transport imports during planned release windows and production deployments.
  • Support CAB (Change Advisory Board) reviews and ensure compliance with organizational change management policies.
  • Prepare and maintain release calendars, deployment schedules, cutover plans, and rollback procedures.
  • Analyze and resolve transport failures, import issues, and system inconsistencies during releases.
  • Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and audit compliance for all production changes.
  • Perform system monitoring, performance checks, and post-release validation activities.
  • Coordinate SAP system refreshes, client copies, kernel upgrades, and technical maintenance activities related to releases.
  • Support Hypercare and post-go-live stabilization activities.
  • Generate release metrics, transport reports, compliance reports, and governance dashboards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in ChaRM processes, transport governance, and release automation.
