SAP S/4HANA Materials Management Lead Consultant

Job Summary

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MM (Materials Management) Consultant with strong S/4HANA experience to support implementation, rollout, and AMS initiatives. The role requires deep functional expertise in procurement, inventory management, and integration with other SAP modules.

Work Model

  • Location: Onsite / Offshore / Hybrid
  • Ability to work in global time zones (Europe/US) as required

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support end-to-end SAP MM implementations and S/4HANA conversion projects
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications
  • Configure and customize SAP MM modules including:
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
    • Purchasing
    • Inventory Management
    • Invoice Verification
  • Manage S/4HANA-specific MM features such as:
    • Business Partner integration
    • Fiori apps for procurement
    • Simplified data model (MATDOC)
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (FI, SD, PP, WM/EWM) for integrations
  • Support data migration activities using tools like LSMW / Migration Cockpit
  • Handle incident management, problem resolution, and enhancements in AMS environment
  • Prepare functional design documents (FDD), test scripts, and user training materials
  • Perform Unit Testing, SIT, and UAT support
  • Provide business process optimization and continuous improvement recommendations

Skill Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6–10+ years of experience in SAP MM consulting
  • Minimum 1–2 S/4HANA implementations or conversion projects
  • Strong expertise in:
    • P2P cycle
    • Purchasing & Vendor Management
    • Inventory Management & Logistics Execution
  • Experience with:
    • S/4HANA Fiori apps
    • Business Partner (BP) approach
    • Output management (BRF+) (Go to have)
  • Good understanding of integration with:
    • SAP FI (Invoice verification, GR/IR)
    • SAP SD and PP
  • Knowledge of IDocs, interfaces, and basic debugging (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Agile and ITIL processes in AMS

Good to Have

  • Experience with Ariba / SRM integration
  • Exposure to EWM or TM integration
  • Knowledge of Automation / AI in procurement processes

Other Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Business / IT or equivalent
  • SAP MM certification – Good to have but not mandatory
  • S/4HANA certification is a strong advantage

  • Ability to work in global delivery model (onsite-offshore coordination)
