The QA Engineer is accountable for ensuring end-to-end quality across highly available, high-throughput Payments platforms operating in regulated European markets. The role focuses on building and scaling automation for APIs, Microservices, and Event-driven systems, with strong domain depth in payments processing and European regulatory standards (e.g., PSD2, SEPA).

 

The role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Business, Product, DevOps/SRE teams to embed quality into the Software Development LifeCycle.

 

 Skill set:

• Strong experience as a QA Engineer in testing products and applications in Financial industry
• Skilled in functional testing for modern, high-performance, and integrated complex applications
• Experience using Gatling and Karate Framework to perform API testing, Mock and UI Testing
• Good experience of Testing Messaging and Event Driven Systems built using tools like Kafka
• Familiarity with REST, JSON, XML and SOAP protocols.
• Good knowledge of tools like Postman for API Testing
• Good knowledge of Gherkin style syntax and scripting for testing high performance applications
• Good to have experience in either TDD/BDD/ATDD based Testing methodologies
• Maintain test cases and automation using tools like Azure DevOps
• Good knowledge and experience of Agile/Scrum and DevOps based development models.
• Understanding of the Financial Payments ecosystem, including various Payment types, Methods, Protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with payment processing systems, payment gateways, and financial messaging protocols (e.g., ISO 20022) -  SEPA CT, SEPA DD, INT CT, TIP CT, Instant Payments, MX, XML,PAIN, JSON knowledge

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute automated test scripts to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of payment systems.
• Implement robust test frameworks and strategies to accelerate testing cycles and improve overall product quality.
• Strong solution focused and good appreciation to design, develop, test, deliver and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Work with Product Owner/Business teams to understand and refine functional specifications and how they translate into application features.
• Apply Agile methodology and work in bi-weekly sprints.
• Collaborate with Development teams to ensure Sprint goals and commitments are met efficiently
• Document the Test artefacts, participate in Scrum ceremonies and Release to production activities
• Triage defects and ensure defect backlog is optimal and provide inputs to the Engineering team
• Perform Incident Management and standby activities

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct api testing to ensure functionality, reliability, performance, and security of various software applications
2. Create and execute automated test scripts using selenium for web application testing
3. Collaborate with development and testing teams to enhance testing processes and improve product quality
4. Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements
5. Identify and report bugs and work with cross functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in api testing tools such as postman, soap ui, or restassured
2. Strong experience in designing and executing automated test scripts using selenium webdriver
3. Sound knowledge of software development life cycle (sdlc) and testing methodologies
4. Familiarity with programming languages like java, python, or c# for test automation
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
6. Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment

Other Requirements

1.ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (preferred)
