SME - CheckPoint PPC (Software), Cloud Security

Job Summary

1. Network Security Operations\r\n• Provide advanced operational support for:\r\no Fortinet FortiGate firewalls\r\no Check Point Next Gen Firewalls\r\no Cisco routing and switching \r\n• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across firewall and cisco platforms.\r\n• Manage and lead P1/P2 incident calls, ensuring timely restoration of services.\r\n• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.\r\n2. Lifecycle Management\r\n• Plan and execute:\r\no Software/firmware upgrades\r\no Hardware replacements/refresh\r\no Policy optimization and cleanup\r\no Configuration standardization\r\n• Evaluate EOL/EOS devices and coordinate replacement strategies.\r\n• Ensure adherence to change management processes (ITIL).\r\n3. Compliance & Security Governance\r\n• Monitor and remediate compliance violations across network security infrastructure.\r\n• Ensure configurations meet internal security standards and audit requirements.\r\n• Work with security and compliance teams to address gaps and implement corrective actions.\r\n4. Cloud Networking (Good to Have and not a must have)\r\n• Working knowledge of Azure and AWS networking, including:\r\no VPC/VNet architecture\r\no Security groups, NACLs, routing\r\no Cloud firewalls and web security controls\r\n• Support hybrid network architecture integration with on prem systems.\r\n5. Automation & Infrastructure as Code (Nice to Have)\r\n• Use Python, Terraform, and Ansible to automate upgrades and chronic issues is Major plus.\r\no Configuration deployments\r\no Validation and compliance checks\r\no Device onboarding and updates\r\n• Contribute to automation pipelines and templates for repeatable tasks.\r\n6. Documentation & Collaboration\r\n• Maintain detailed documentation for network diagrams, change procedures, and configurations.\r\n• Collaborate with SOC, Cloud, Application, and Compliance teams for cross functional initiatives.\r\n• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex projects.\r\n \r\nTechnical Skills\r\n• 7–8 years of experience in network security engineering.\r\n• Strong hands on experience with:\r\no Fortinet FortiGate (policy mgmt, HA)\r\no Check Point Firewalls (SmartConsole, ClusterXL, IPS)\r\no Cisco routing and switching (ACL, routing protocols, VPN IPSec)\r\n \r\n• Deep understanding of:\r\no TCP/IP, routing, switching\r\no SSL/TLS, IPSec\r\no Threat prevention technologies\r\n• Experience supporting large enterprise production environments.\r\n
