Job Summary

The Cloud Operations team manages daily operations for Instinet’s cloud portfolio primarily based on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. As the lead Cloud Operations Engineer you will design, build and maintain advanced DevOps solutions and automation supporting management and operations of the AWS Organization ecosystem. RESPONSIBILITIES • Establish, maintain and operate Instinet’s AWS Organizations environment comprised of 100s of accounts. • Development and Software Lifecycle ownership of AWS Landing Zone infrastructure, automation and tooling including the Landing Zone pipelines and Instinet’s internal Application Specific Pipeline (ASP) product • Software Lifecycle Maintenance (development and bug fixes) of established automation frameworks in areas such as Backup management, Guard rails, Cost management, etc. • Monitor, manage and respond to operational events and incidents across the cloud ecosystem. • Vulnerability Remediation solution design and implementation along with global cloud AMI Factory product ownership. • Design, implementation and maintenance of Security Operations (SecOps) automation solutions per requirements defined by InfoSec group. • Cloud environment change management, coordination and provisioning/execution • Management and oversight of automation for BAU activities such as account creation, landing zone management, application inventory, trusted advisor recommendations, cost oversight, operational guard rails, etc. • Manage incoming service requests via JIRA Service Desk. Perform triage, scheduling and execution of incoming requests. Coordinate with internal teams to successfully resolve requests. • Monthly reporting of operations KPIs; apply continuous improvement methodology to support required KPIs REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 7 years of Operations and/or NOC experience including monitoring, alert response, problem isolation and remediation. • Minimum 3 years of experience with operating applications within Amazon Web Services (AWS) • Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing configuration management and automation frameworks to manage large scale distributed infrastructure utilizing tools such as Ansible (Chef or Puppet), CloudFormation or Terra Form • Advanced experience (3+ years) with Infrastructure As Code technologies such as CloudFormation(preferred) or Terraform • Advanced experience (3+ years) with programming languages such as Python and Shell scripting (Windows and Linux) • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automated solutions across a distributed ecosystem. Understanding how to effectively scale solutions within AWS in order to achieve efficient global operations. • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as Gitlab, Jenkins or CodeCommit/Build/Deploy • Experience utilizing service desk tools such as JIRA, Service Now, etc. • Ability to utilize and perform administration via a command line interface in Windows, Linux or Unix • Knowledge and experience utilizing Git via command line
