AD Consultant - Job Description
Deploy new Domain Controllers running Windows Server 2025 across EDGE/SDI, DEEP, and AWS Classic infrastructures.
Validate network connectivity between PDC, PKI, replication partners, and newly deployed DCs; raise necessary tickets with connectivity/network teams to resolve issues.
Promote new servers to Domain Controllers and configure them as Global Catalogs.
Perform post‑promotion checks to ensure all required tools, roles, services, and configurations are correctly installed and operational.
Plan and execute cutover activities in coordination with local OSS teams and site stakeholders to ensure no service disruption at affected sites.
Shut down legacy Windows Server 2016/2019 Domain Controllers for a 7‑day monitoring period to confirm stability and identify any site‑level issues.
Safely decommission legacy 2016/2019 Domain Controllers following successful validation.
Clean up associated metadata, server objects, DNS entries, and AD remnants once old DCs are removed.
Troubleshoot AD replication, DNS, PKI, and authentication issues during deployment and migration phases.
Ensure new Domain Controllers adhere to security baselines and hardening guidelines.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including deployment steps, validation checklists, and decommissioning guides.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as network, security, cloud, and local IT to support successful implementation across all environments.
