Job Summary
The Subject Matter Expert (Support & Ops) plays a critical role in ensuring the timely resolution of escalations and incidents within the Support & Operations team. By leveraging expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), this position directly impacts customer satisfaction through effective incident management and quality assurance. The role requires active engagement with stakeholders to facilitate communication and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Cloud Software Engineer with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Compute services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and full-stack development. In this role, you will bridge the gap between cloud infrastructure and software development. You will design, build, and automate scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform, develop robust backend APIs using Python (Flask), build modern user interfaces with React JS, and integrate enterprise API management via Apigee. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving developer efficiency by leveraging Internal Developer Platforms like Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH).
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure On-Time Resolution And Quality Compliance Of Escalated Tickets And Incidents By Analyzing Issues Within Gcp, Adhering To Established Slas And Quality Norms.
2. Mentor Team Members And Administrators While Preparing Standard Operating Procedures (Sops) And Maintaining Comprehensive Documentation, Promoting Knowledge Sharing Across The Team.
3. Validate Change Order Implementation Plans And Ensure Compliance With Human Error Protocols While Participating In Capacity Planning Activities For Gcp Resources.
4. Facilitate Positive Customer Feedback By Actively Participating In Customer Meetings, Understanding Issues Faced, And Providing Effective Solutions That Enhance Customer Satisfaction.
5. Conduct And Validate Analyses Such As Root Cause And Trend Analysis Within Gcp, Preparing Reports That Enhance Task Performance And Are Presented To Key Business Stakeholders.
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation (GCP Compute Profile) Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Focus heavily on Google Compute Engine (GCE) for virtual machine management and Google Cloud Storage (GCS) for object storage solutions. Write clean, modular, and reusable Terraform scripts to provision and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across environments. Implement best practices for GCP security, IAM roles, VPC networking, and resource optimization. 2. Full-Stack Development & API Management Develop, test, and deploy robust, high-performance backend microservices and RESTful APIs using Python and the Flask framework. Design and build responsive, intuitive, and modern front-end user interfaces using React JS to support internal tooling and cloud management portals. Configure, secure, and manage API proxies, traffic routing, and security policies using Apigee. 3. Developer Platform & DevOps Integration Utilize and integrate services into the Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH) (based on Backstage) to build software templates, streamline developer onboarding, and maintain service catalogs. Manage code repositories, branching strategies, and CI/CD workflows using Git. Collaborate actively in an Agile/Scrum environment, tracking tasks, sprints, and user stories in Jira. Ensure alignment with enterprise change management and ticketing processes using ServiceNow.

Infrastructure as Code: Proven expertise in Terraform for automated provisioning of GCP resources. Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with the Flask framework. Frontend Development: Solid understanding of UI/UX principles with hands-on development experience in React JS. API Management: Practical knowledge of Apigee for API gateway configuration, security, and management. Developer Experience & Tools: Developer Portal: Familiarity or hands-on experience with Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH) or Backstage. Version Control: Strong command of Git (GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket). Collaboration & ITSM: Practical experience using Jira for agile project management and ServiceNow for service requests, incident management, and change control.

1. Optional Certifications: Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Enginee.
Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect. HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate. Experience building developer self-service portals or automated provisioning pipelines. Understanding of containerization (Docker, Google Kubernetes Engine) is a plus.
