SME - IBM DB2 for z/OS

Job Summary

The Subject Matter Expert (Support & Ops) plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely resolution of escalations and incidents within the DB2 z/OS environment. By leveraging expert knowledge in performance tuning and DBA practices, this role contributes significantly to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, adhering to SLA and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure On-Time Resolution And Quality Compliance Of Escalated Tickets And Incidents By Conducting Thorough Performance Tuning And Dba Analysis In The Db2 Z/Os Environment As Per The Agreed Sla.
2. Mentor Team Members And Administrators In Db2 Best Practices, Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (Sops), And Maintain Effective Documentation To Promote Knowledge Sharing Across The Team.
3. Validate Change Order Implementation Plans And Ensure Human Error Compliance While Actively Participating In Capacity Planning Efforts To Optimize Db2 System Performance.
4. Participate In Customer Meetings To Understand And Address Any Issues Faced, Ensuring Positive Feedback And High Customer Satisfaction Through Effective Communication And Problem-Solving.
5. Validate Analyses Such As Root Cause Analysis And Trend Analysis To Facilitate Informed Decision-Making And Present Performance Reports To Key Business Stakeholders.

Skill Requirements

1. Expert Knowledge In Db2 Systems & Dba With A Focus On Db2 Z/Os Performance Tuning.
2. Strong Analytical Skills And Proficiency In Incident Management And Escalation Resolution.
3. Excellent Communication Skills For Liaising With Stakeholders And Mentoring Team Members.

1. Recommended Certifications: Ibm Certified Database Administrator Db2 Z/Os (Optional But Valuable)
