The Unix Engineering team is responsible for the strategy, engineering and delivery of the Linux and UNIX platforms within the bank.
Our focus is on automating all aspects of deployment, configuration, testing and management of the hardware, firmware, OS and clustering stack by integrating automation tooling into a larger continuous integration framework and pipeline.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering standard HA solution using SuSE HA.
- Testing of components to ensure compatibility and safety
- Developing automation to reduce toil and privileged access
- Writing technical documentation, including design documentation, training materials, and white papers
- Management and ownership of selected critical problem cases within the bank, drive through to resolution as level 3/4 subject matter expertise engineering resource
- Able to build Linux rpms
Your Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of Veritas, pacemaker and other HA solutions on Linux
- Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux and Suse Linux Enterprise Server
- Broad knowledge of other Unix Operating Systems and associated add-on technology stacks
- OS level problem determination, problem analysis and tuning experience (memory, disk, network, file system, etc.)
- Experience with Ansible, git/stash, TeamCity/Jenkins, Jira, Confluence
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell)
