SPLUNK Observability Platform Engineer Mid-Level > 5 y Looking for skilled and experienced Splunk Observability Platform Engineer to run, operate, manage, optimize, design and further develop Splunk Observability Cloud Ecosystem including related OnPrem components Provide end-to-end visibility into modern IT systems and to measurably improve system stability, performance, and user experience by implementing and operating a powerful observability platform Key Responsibilities • Administration, operation and further development of the Splunk Observability Cloud Ecosystem (incl. OnPrem components) • Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of the platform • Management of release and upgrade processes • Execution of troubleshooting and root cause analyses in the event of platform problems / incidents • Monitor Data Volume Monitoring and Cost Optimization in Observability Context • Implementation of OpenTelemetry-based observability use cases • Agent lifecycle management (e.g., OpenTelemetry Collector, Splunk Distribution of OTel) • Integration of data sources o Mandatory – Kubernetes, Azure o Optional – Microservices, Docker, Linux/Windows systems, AWS • Monitoring and analysis of metrics, traces and logs • Support for DevOps and CI/CD processes • Automation of monitoring and deployment processes o Mandatory – via APIs, Terraform o Optional – Ansible or scripts • Implementation and maintenance of dashboards, alerts and service level objectives • Management of users, roles, accesses and data sources • Technical and professional consulting for user teams • Collaborate with DevOps, cloud, and development teams to improve observability • Support of customers in incident and problem management processes • Collaboration in definition & implementation of platform roadmap of holistic observability strategy (metrics, traces, logs) Required Skills & Qualifications • Several years of experience in the field of IT monitoring / observability / APM • In-depth knowledge of the Splunk Observability Cloud / Splunk Enterprise • Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Experience with monitoring standards such as OpenTelemetry, Metrics, Traces, and Logs • Good knowledge of scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar) • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) Preferred Qualifications • Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Core Certified, Observability Cloud Certification) – Nice to have • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g. ServiceNow) • Experience with other monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus)\"
