Job Summary
Role Overview
The Azure Presales Consultant is responsible for supporting the sales cycle by providing technical expertise on Microsoft Azure solutions. This includes understanding customer needs, designing cloud architectures, demonstrating Azure capabilities, and helping close deals through technical validation. The role bridges the gap between business requirements and Azure’s technical offerings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Engagement & Requirement Analysis
- Meet with potential clients to understand their business goals and technical requirements.
- Collaborate directly with customers to analyze their Azure environments, challenges, and opportunities.
2. Solution Design & Technical Consulting
- Design tailored Microsoft Azure‑based solutions, including architecture recommendations and cost‑optimized models.
- Provide DevOps, governance, monitoring, and performance optimization guidance.
3. Presentations, Demos & Workshops
- Deliver engaging technical demos, workshops, cloud adoption sessions, and proof‑of‑concept (POC) environments.
- Demonstrate Azure services (App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Data Factory, etc.).
4. Proposal & Documentation Support
- Create high‑quality proposals, technical documentation, and RFI/RFP responses.
- Assist in developing sales proposals and customer‑specific solution documents.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with sales teams, delivery teams, and customer success teams to drive deal closure.
- Ensure smooth handover of signed projects to implementation teams.
6. Thought Leadership & Content Creation
- Produce blogs, videos, solution guides, and technical storytelling content.
7. Market & Technology Awareness
- Stay updated on new Azure releases, best practices, competitive landscape, and cloud market trends.
Skill Requirements
Technical Skills
- Hands‑on experience with Azure core services:
App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Data Factory. - Azure Monitoring Tools:
Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Resource Health. - Strong understanding of Azure governance, performance tuning, FinOps/cost optimization.
- Experience designing POCs, demos, and cloud architectures.
Presales & Consulting Skills
- Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills.
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong proposal writing and documentation capabilities.
Experience
- Typically 2–5 years of presales or technical consulting experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- Preferably Azure certifications:
- AZ‑104 (Administrator)
- AZ‑305 (Solutions Architect)
- AZ‑900 (Fundamentals)
- AZ‑400 (DevOps)
Other Requirements
Desirable Skills
- Awareness of FinOps principles and cloud cost management.
- Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates.
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.
