Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing database operations for large-scale and complex projects, ensuring optimal system performance, high availability, and continuous service improvement. The individual drives operational excellence, mentors technical teams, and innovates process enhancements to meet client SLAs and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee database operations by applying expert knowledge in Oracle and PostgreSQL administration to ensure high availability, performance tuning, and recovery planning for large-scale production environments.
2. Lead incident management and root cause analysis for Oracle and PostgreSQL systems, implementing preventive measures and process enhancements to minimize downtime.
3. Drive automation initiatives using scripting tools and database utilities to streamline repetitive Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL operational tasks.
4. Guide and mentor teams in advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization of Oracle and PostgreSQL clusters, ensuring knowledge transfer and technical growth.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate client requirements into actionable support solutions, ensuring alignment with SLAs and business objectives.
6. Champion the adoption of new database technologies and methodologies, evaluating tools for process improvement and leading innovation in support operations.
7. Maintain compliance with security and audit requirements by enforcing best practices in database backup, patch management, and access control across Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL platforms.

Skill Requirements

1. Advanced Proficiency In Mysql And Ms Sql Server Administration For MultiDatabase Environments.
2. Excellent Skills In Automation And Scripting (Shell, Python, Or Relevant Tools) For Database Operations.
3. InDepth Experience With Database Backup, Restore, Disaster Recovery, And High Availability Architectures (Rac, Replication, Clustering).
4. Strong Understanding Of Itil Processes And Service Management Frameworks.
5. Excellent Communication, Leadership, And Mentoring Skills.

Other Requirements

1. Recommended: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and PostgreSQL Certified Engineer (optional but valuable).
2. Recommended: ITIL Foundation Certification (optional but valuable)

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
