BigFix L2 – Endpoint Management Engineer\\\\r\\\\nRole Level: L2 (Support / Operations Engineer)\\\\r\\\\nFunction: End User Computing / Endpoint Management\\\\r\\\\n________________________________________\\\\r\\\\nRole Summary\\\\r\\\\nThe BigFix L2 Engineer is responsible for day to day operation, monitoring, and support of the HCL BigFix endpoint management platform. The role supports Windows and non Windows devices (macOS/Linux), executes patching and software deployments, performs standard automation tasks, and troubleshoots endpoint issues, escalating complex problems to L3 as required
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities\\\\r\\\\n• Operate and support HCL BigFix for enterprise endpoint management across Windows and non Windows devices.\\\\r\\\\n• Execute monthly and ad hoc patch deployments for OS and 3rd party applications following defined schedules and procedures.\\\\r\\\\n• Deploy approved software packages, Fixlets, Tasks, and Baselines as per runbooks.\\\\r\\\\n• Monitor endpoint compliance, deployment status, and agent health; remediate common failures.\\\\r\\\\n• Perform initial troubleshooting for BigFix agent, deployment, and connectivity issues; escalate to L3 when necessary.\\\\r\\\\n• Support standard automation scripts and Fixlets, including execution and basic modifications.\\\\r\\\\n• Assist with report generation for patch compliance, endpoint health, and SLA metrics.\\\\r\\\\n• Handle incidents, service requests, and changes in line with ITIL processes.\\\\r\\\\n• Maintain operational documentation, SOP adherence, and update knowledge articles as required.\\\\r\\\\n• Collaborate with Security, EUC, and Infrastructure teams during patch cycles and remediation activities.
Skill Requirements
Required Technical Skills\\\\r\\\\nBigFix\\\\r\\\\n• Hands-on experience with HCL BigFix Console, Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, and basic Relevance.\\\\r\\\\n• Understanding of BigFix agent operations, deployment workflows, and troubleshooting basics.\\\\r\\\\nEndpoint Platforms\\\\r\\\\n• Strong working knowledge of Windows OS patching, services, registry, and application installs.\\\\r\\\\n• Basic to intermediate experience supporting macOS and/or Linux devices.\\\\r\\\\nAutomation & Scripting\\\\r\\\\n• Working knowledge of PowerShell for standard automation and remediation tasks.\\\\r\\\\n• Basic exposure to Shell/Bash scripting is a plus.\\\\r\\\\n________________________________________\\\\r\\\\nDesired / Good to Have\\\\r\\\\n• Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).\\\\r\\\\n• Exposure to vulnerability remediation or security-driven patching.\\\\r\\\\n• Knowledge of endpoint compliance reporting and basic dashboards.\\\\r\\\\n________________________________________\\\\r\\\\nExperience & Qualifications\\\\r\\\\n• 3–6 years overall IT experience\\\\r\\\\n• 1–3 years hands-on experience with BigFix or similar endpoint tools\\\\r\\\\n• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience\\\\r\\\\n• ITIL awareness preferred
