Job Description – Azure L2 Support Administrator
Role Summary
The Azure L2 Support Administrator provides advanced operational support for Microsoft Azure environments. The role focuses on incident resolution, service requests, monitoring, and operational maintenance, acting as an escalation point from L1 and ensuring platform stability, security, and performance as per agreed SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Azure Operations & Support
Handle L2 escalations for Azure infrastructure and platform services.
Support Azure IaaS and PaaS services including:
Virtual Machines (Windows/Linux)
Azure Storage (Blob, File, Disk)
Virtual Networks, Subnets, NSGs
Load Balancers and Application Gateways
Perform VM provisioning, resizing, patching, and decommissioning.
Troubleshoot performance, availability, connectivity, and access issues.
Incident, Problem & Change Support
Investigate and resolve Azure incidents within SLA timelines.
Support root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or major incidents.
Execute approved changes (configuration updates, scaling, maintenance).
Support planned maintenance and patching activities.
Monitoring, Backup & Security
Monitor Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts.
Manage and validate Azure Backup and Recovery operations.
Support identity and access management using Azure AD (RBAC, service principals).
Assist with security and compliance controls as defined by policies.
Documentation & Reporting
Update runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
Provide operational reports and service health updates.
Coordinate with L3 teams and vendors for complex issues.
Skill Requirements

Strong handson experience with Microsoft Azure administration.
Working knowledge of:
Azure VM, VNet, NSG, Storage
Azure AD & RBAC
Backup & Restore
Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow or equivalent).
Process & Soft Skills
ITIL knowledge (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work in shiftbased / remote support environments.

3–6 years of Azure infrastructure support experience.
Azure Administrator certification (AZ104) – preferred.
