Job Summary
hands-on experience in supporting end-to-end data reconciliation across multiple source systems (SAP BI/BW/Databricks), design and execute UAT for analytics/reporting solutions, and build scalable, automated reporting / UAT documentation, using Power BI and /or advanced Excel. The role combines strong data quality and controls discipline with solid testing/validation skills. The analyst has to ensure data accuracy, traceability and operational compliance through robust reconciliation routines and test governance.
Key Responsibilities
Data reconciliation
- Design, implement, and perform data reconciliation routines across systems (e.g., SAP, Databricks, external feeds).
- Develop reconciliation rules (record counts, balance checks, attribute-level variance thresholds) with exception reporting and root-cause analysis.
- Build / maintain reconciliation reports / dashboards for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness KPIs
- Document data mapping from source to report; maintain reconciliation playbooks, SOPs, and control evidence.
- Collaborate with data owners, SMEs and technical team to remediate issues, implement preventive controls, and improve upstream data quality.
UAT Planning and Execution
- Develop UAT scope, acceptance criteria, and a risk-based test plan aligned to business requirements and data models.
- Create test cases/scripts, test data, and traceability matrices; execute tests for reports, data pipelines, transformations, and semantic layers.
- Log, triage, and track defects to closure using spreadsheet-based trackers / ADO / other ticketing applications; coordinate re-tests and regression cycles.
- Facilitate UAT sign-off with clear evidence and impact assessments; support go-live readiness and post-implementation validation.
Power BI / Advanced Excel Automation
- Build scalable Power BI solutions (datasets, dataflows, models, reports) using Power Query (M) and DAX with performance optimization.
Develop advanced Excel models, using Power Query automation, and / or VBA / Office Scripts where appropriate; connect Excel to semantic models.
Skill Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in in Accounting / Finance / Business, or related fields. Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant, or equivalent
- Role specific experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in data/analytics roles with a focus on accounting / financial data reconciliation, UAT/test execution, and Power BI/reporting automation.
- Proven experience designing and operating reconciliation controls and exception management across multiple systems/datasets.
Other Requirements
- Strong hands-on expertise with:
Power BI: Power Query (M), DAX, data modeling, dataflows and performance tuning.
Advanced Excel: Power Query, advanced formulas, PivotTables/Power Pivot; automation via VBA or Office Scripts.
- Reconciliation of accounting / financial datasets and resolution of breaks
- Data quality and controls
- Working knowledge of SAP, BO / BW, Databricks preferred
- Analytical problem-solving and root-cause analysis
- Test governance and documentation rigor
