Job Description: Mid-Level Engineer – BIOS Debug & ValidationRole OverviewWe are seeking a skilled BIOS Debug & Validation Engineer with 3–7 years of experience to work on Intel Server and Client platforms. The role primarily involves BIOS validation, issue triage, and debugging, with strong involvement in manual and automated test execution across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases. Candidates must have prior hands-on experience with Intel platforms and strong knowledge of key BIOS domains such as RAS, MRC, and PCIe.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute pre-silicon and post-silicon BIOS validation test cases (manual and automated).Perform test execution, validation, and result analysis for Intel Server and Client product lines.Conduct issue triage, including log analysis, failure categorization, and reproducibility checks.Perform BIOS debugging using logs, traces, and platform debug tools to identify root causes.Work on failure analysis across firmware, silicon, and platform layers.Collaborate with BIOS, silicon validation, and hardware teams for issue resolution.Develop and enhance automation scripts/tools to improve validation efficiency.Track and manage defects using standard defect tracking systems and ensure closure.Support customer issues and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.Required SkillsMandatory: Hands-on experience working with Intel Server and/or Client platforms.Strong understanding of BIOS/UEFI architecture, boot flow, and firmware behavior.Proven experience in BIOS validation, triage, and debug activities.Strong experience in manual and automated test execution frameworks.Hands-on expertise in key BIOS domains: RAS ,MRC, PCIe ,CPU, Power and thermalStrong debugging skills with ability to analyze: BIOS logs, UART traces,Crash dumps / failure signaturesUnderstanding of hardware-software interaction and system-level debugging.Familiarity with pre-silicon and post-silicon validation cycles.Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation and log analysis.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Intel silicon bring-up and platform validation environments.Exposure to additional domains like Power Management, Security (Boot Guard/TPM), Firmware Update flows.Familiarity with tools such as:WinDbg, trace tools, validation frameworksExperience working in high-pressure validation cycles or release environments.Soft SkillsStrong analytical and troubleshooting mindset.Good communication skills for working with cross-functional and global teams.High ownership and ability to independently drive issues to closure.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.EducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Key Responsibilities
2. Execute Functionality Testing Of Bios Software According To The Defined Test Plan And Respective Test Cases, Documenting Results And Identifying Any Discrepancies.
3. Contribute To The Development Of Test Plans By Collaborating With The Team And Providing Insights Based On Assigned Work, Ensuring Alignment With Project Objectives.
4. Track And Analyze Test Coverage, Defect Density, And Other Key Metrics Related To Bios Validation, Presenting Progress Reports To Stakeholders And Suggesting Areas For Improvement.
5. Coordinate Discussions With Team Members And Provide Updates To Clients Regarding Testing Progress And Defect Resolution, Fostering Effective Communication Throughout The Testing Process.
