Job Title: Technical Lead – AI/ML Solutions for Policing
Role Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Technical Lead with 5–6 years of experience in designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, specifically for public safety and policing applications. The candidate will lead technical development efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with law enforcement stakeholders to deliver impactful AI-driven systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Solution Development & Leadership
Lead the technical design and development of AI/ML solutions for use cases such as crime prediction, facial recognition, incident classification, and resource allocation.
Translate policing challenges into scalable AI architectures and workflows.
Hands-on Engineering
Build and optimize ML models using structured and unstructured data (e.g., video feeds, text reports, geospatial data).
Develop and maintain data pipelines and APIs for real-time and batch processing.
Team Collaboration & Mentorship
Guide and mentor junior data scientists and engineers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including law enforcement officers, data engineers, and policy experts.
Deployment & Monitoring
Deploy models using MLOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring).
Ensure models are robust, explainable, and compliant with ethical and legal standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work with government agencies to understand operational needs and present technical solutions.
Document and communicate technical decisions and project progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Skills:
Languages: Python (mandatory), SQL, R (optional)
ML Frameworks: Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV (for image/video analysis)
Data Tools: Pandas, NumPy, Spark
Cloud Platforms: Azure Government Cloud, AWS GovCloud, GCP (with compliance modules)
MLOps Tools: MLflow, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes
Geospatial Tools: GeoPandas, QGIS, ArcGIS
Visualization: Power BI, Dash, Plotly
Domain Knowledge:
Experience with public safety workflows, surveillance systems, and emergency response analytics.
Understanding of data privacy, bias mitigation, and ethical AI practices in law enforcement.

Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Problem-solving and analytical thinking
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
5–6 years of experience in AI/ML development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role
Experience in public sector or regulated environments (preferred)
Certifications in AI/ML or cloud platforms (preferred)
Preferred Experience:
Projects involving smart policing, surveillance analytics, or emergency response systems
Exposure to ethical AI frameworks and bias mitigation strategies
Experience working with government or civic technology initiatives
