Within the Customer Value Group (CVG) board area, the mission of SAP Global Cloud Operations is to shape the future of SAP by providing a comprehensive, end-to-end managed services experience that supports customers throughout their cloud transformation journey. POSITION OVERVIEW You will own the technical architecture of an enterprise platform built on SAP BTP, leading it from design through delivery, release, and production operation. You will set technical direction, guide a small team of developers, and define the engineering standards the team builds to, spanning architectural patterns, code quality, security, and operational readiness. The work covers enterprise application development end to end, and you stay close to the code in the parts of the system that matter most. You will work closely with the product owner in a collaborative, backlog-driven model, sharing a common goal of building tools that genuinely work for the people who use them. Strong delivery and clear product direction go hand in hand here, and the best outcomes come from both sides doing their part well. Product decisions and technical decisions each have a clear home, and that clarity is what keeps delivery moving without friction. WHAT YOU'LL DO Architecture and Delivery • Own the solution architecture from business requirements through implementation, release, and production support. • Lead development across SAP CAP, SAPUI5, OData V4, SAP HANA Cloud, and relevant SAP BTP services. • Define and uphold clean architecture, technical boundaries, Clean Core principles, and SAP development best practices. • Ensure release readiness across Cloud Foundry and, where applicable, Kyma runtime, authorization, CI/CD, monitoring, and operational readiness. • Make sure the platform meets enterprise standards for security, scalability, maintainability, performance, and observability. • Contribute to selected AI-enabled product features using SAP AI Core, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt orchestration, tool/function calling, evaluation, and observability where appropriate. People and Collaboration • Coordinate developers providing direction, mentorship, code review, and support in resolving blockers. • Grow the team's capability in SAP BTP development, architecture, AI-assisted engineering, and production-quality delivery. • Partner with product owners and business stakeholders to align priorities, explain architectural choices, and keep delivery moving. • Raise technical concerns constructively and propose alternatives when trade-offs require a change in direction. WHAT YOU BRING Experience • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience as a software architect, developer, or senior engineer, with a strong track record building production solution on SAP BTP. • Deep hands-on experience with SAP CAP using Node.js, CDS modeling, SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, OData V4, SAP HANA Cloud, and cloud deployment.; • Proven ownership of enterprise applications across multiple releases, with responsibility for architecture, security, scalability with responsibility for architecture, security, scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Requirements
- Solid working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, and Node.js; experience with Python or Java is a plus.
- Solid grounding in Clean Code, software design patterns, API design, test automation, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of SAP BTP security, including XSUAA, identity integration, destinations, authorization models, and secure service-to-service communication.
- Working knowledge of enterprise AI patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings and vector search, and tool/function calling for agentic workflows.

Nice to Have
- SAP certifications such as SAP BTP Solution Architect, SAP Fiori Developer, SAP Generative AI Developer, or related credentials.
- Experience with SAP Joule, Joule Studio, SAP AI Core, SAP Generative AI Hub, SAP Build, Integration Suite or comparable enterprise AI and orchestration tools is a plus.
- Experience contributing to reusable architecture assets, internal frameworks, open-source projects, or engineering standards.
