Role Summary
The SAP HR Lead will be responsible for leading the design, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment of SAP HR / HCM solutions as part of a greenfield SAP implementation for a manufacturing organization. The role will partner with business stakeholders across HR, plant operations, payroll, finance, IT, and compliance teams to define future-state HR processes, align them with SAP best practices, and deliver a scalable, compliant, and user-friendly HR solution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead SAP HR / HCM workstream activities across blueprinting, design, configuration, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
Conduct workshops with HR, manufacturing operations, payroll, time office, plant administration, finance, and compliance stakeholders to gather and validate business requirements.
Define future-state HR processes for organizational management, personnel administration, time management, payroll integration, employee lifecycle, workforce administration, and statutory compliance.
Translate business requirements into SAP solution design documents, configuration specifications, functional specifications, test scripts, and process documentation.
Configure and guide configuration for SAP HR modules such as Organizational Management, Personnel Administration, Time Management, Payroll interfaces, Benefits, and relevant integrations.
Ensure manufacturing-specific HR processes are addressed, including shift patterns, work schedules, overtime, attendance, leave, contractor workforce considerations, plant-level approvals, and labor compliance requirements.
Collaborate with SAP FI/CO, MM, PP, PM, EHS, Security, Basis, ABAP, integration, and data teams to ensure end-to-end process alignment.
Lead data migration planning for employee master data, organizational structures, positions, jobs, cost centers, work schedules, absence quotas, and other HR objects.
Support integration with SAP SuccessFactors, third-party payroll, time attendance systems, biometric devices, access control systems, and reporting platforms where applicable.
Drive unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, regression testing, and business sign-off.
Prepare training materials, support end-user training, and enable HR and plant teams to adopt new SAP processes.
Own issue resolution, risk tracking, status reporting, and stakeholder communication for the SAP HR workstream.
Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, post-go-live stabilization, and transition to support operations.
Key Responsibilities
Required Skills and Experience
10+ years of experience in SAP HR / SAP HCM implementation, support, or transformation projects.
Strong hands-on expertise in SAP HCM modules including Organizational Management, Personnel Administration, Time Management, Payroll integration, and related HR master data processes.
Proven experience as a workstream lead or functional lead in at least two end-to-end SAP implementation projects, preferably including one greenfield implementation.
Good understanding of manufacturing HR processes such as shift management, shop-floor attendance, overtime rules, contract labor, plant-level hierarchy, and statutory labor compliance.
Experience in requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, documentation, testing, defect management, data migration, and go-live support.
Working knowledge of integration points between SAP HR and Finance, Controlling, Production Planning, Plant Maintenance, Project Systems, Security, and external systems.
Ability to manage business stakeholders, facilitate workshops, challenge legacy processes, and recommend SAP best-practice solutions.
Strong understanding of role-based access, HR data privacy, audit controls, and compliance considerations.
Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation programs.
Exposure to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, Recruitment, Performance, Learning, or Compensation modules.
Experience with cloud HR transformation or hybrid SAP HCM and SuccessFactors landscapes.
Knowledge of Indian payroll, statutory compliance, labor laws, factory rules, and manufacturing workforce regulations, if applicable to the project geography.
Experience integrating with time attendance systems, biometric systems, third-party payroll providers, and reporting tools.
SAP certification in SAP HCM, SAP SuccessFactors, or related modules is desirable.

Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree or MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
SAP HCM or SAP SuccessFactors certification is preferred.
Project management certification or Agile delivery exposure is an added advantage.
