Job Summary
The Senior SAP BW Consultant will provide Level 2 support for the customers SAP BW landscape while also contributing to application enhancements, reporting initiatives, development activities, and project-driven changes. The role will support a global 24x7 AMS environment and work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and L3/L4 experts to ensure continuous improvement of the analytics platform.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor BW process chains and data loads.
Resolve routine incidents and service requests.
Perform first-level analysis of data and reporting issues.
Support query troubleshooting and user access issues.
Escalate complex technical issues to L3 teams.
Participate in shift handovers and operational reviews.
Maintain support documentation and knowledge articles.
Support testing activities during deployments and changes.
Skill Requirements
Operational Support
- Monitor SAP BW process chains, data loads, failures, and batch schedules.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within SLA.
- Perform data reconciliation and root cause analysis for reporting discrepancies.
- Support user access, authorization, and reporting issues.
- Participate in 24x7 production support and shift handovers.
- Escalate complex technical issues to L3 and L4 teams where required.
Enhancement & Development Support
- Develop and modify BW data models, ADSOs, Composite Providers, and Transformations.
- Create and maintain process chains, DTPs, transformations, and data extraction processes.
- Develop and enhance BW queries and reporting objects based on business requirements.
- Support implementation of approved changes and enhancement requests.
- Participate in project activities, testing cycles, and release deployments.
- Work with functional teams to design and implement new reporting solutions.
Project & Change Activities
- Support business transformation initiatives requiring BW enhancements.
- Participate in requirement gathering, impact assessments, and solution discussions.
- Prepare technical specifications and documentation for enhancements.
- Assist with SIT, UAT, regression testing, and deployment activities.
- Support migrations, upgrades, and analytics transformation projects.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify automation and optimization opportunities.
- Improve data load performance and reporting efficiency.
- Create and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, and knowledge articles.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives and problem management activities.
- Support knowledge transfer and onboarding activities.

- Experience supporting global AMS engagements.
- Experience working on projects, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of SAP BO and SAP Analytics Cloud integration scenarios.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- SAP BW certification required.
