Job Summary

The Senior Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing Packaging and Shipping Design projects, utilizing CAD Design Skills, specifically AutoCAD. They will play a key role in managing and guiding the design team to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Key job responsibilities
As an ICT Design Engineer you will:Collaborate with MEP Designers, Network Engineers, Architects, Design managers, Procurement teams and Implementation Managers to coordinate design and deployment of IoT devices and ICT infrastructure to include power, cooling, space, pathways, cabinets, racks, and network equipmentWork with BIM teams to create, edit, and revise design drawing details and templatesAttend design meetings, and review, comment and approve ICT design drawings and specifications using Bluebeam or other PDF softwareWork with procurement teams, product manufacturers and distributors to develop maintain and manage Global ICT Product equipment lists, pricing and lead timesDevelop and provide RFP, SOW and Bid Templates to ICT design consultants and LVCReview, analyze, level and compare bidsManage ICT design consultants and LVC Contractors holding them accountable for on time, high quality deliverablesIdentify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectivelySupport new technology development and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and installation time
Basic qualificationsExperience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructureExperience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documentsExperience with AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM), as well as scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, or similar)2+ years of fiber handling and fiber installation processes experience5+ years Information and Communications Technology (ICT) design experienceBICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent (e.g. CDCDP, DCDC, CNIDP, PE etc.)Preferred qualificationsExperience in investigating, designing, prototyping, and delivering new and innovative system solutionsExperience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designsExperience using modeling, project management, CAD and software programming toolsExperience with Excel

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage the design team in the development of packaging and shipping design projects
2. Utilize cad design skills to create detailed drawings and specifications
3. Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and provide design solutions
4. Ensure projects are completed within budget and timelines
5. Conduct quality checks on design deliverables to maintain high standards
6. Mentor junior design team members and provide guidance on best practices
7. Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements in packaging and shipping design

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in packaging and shipping design concepts and principles
2. Strong cad design skills with expertise in autocad software
3. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
4. Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
5. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design issues efficiently

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in Packaging and Shipping Design or CAD Design Skills are a plus

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
