Job Summary
The Senior Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing component engineering and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) processes. They will lead the design team's efforts to ensure that products are effectively developed and manufactured with a focus on efficiency and quality.
Job Description – Wind Turbine Blades Design Engineer (Vestas – Creo/Windchill) Position Title: Design Engineer – Blades (Vestas Work Package) Location: Chennai / Bengaluru Experience Required: 4 – 8 Years Responsibilities Manage the Life Cycle Management sub module for blades, Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Design, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Construction, and Service to improve lifecycle Modelling components, composites, and assemblies. Handling and structuring large assembly models. Surface generation and updates. Interface checks and clearance analysis. DWG creation and updates. Laser file creation and updates. Composite Flat pattern generation and updates. Design and Review documents creation and updates. OSOS and CN implementation. PLM data management in Windchill Qualifications Bachelor / Master's in Mechanical / Aerospace / Materials Engineering / Similar specialization 4-7 years of experience in engineering roles in wind energy / composite structures / Non metal materials Experience in product lifecycle management or reliability engineering Effective communication and collaboration skills in a global, matrixed environment Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and facilitate decisions Competencies proficient understanding of blade lifecycle performance, including containment and prevention of quality issues, serviceability
Key Responsibilities
2. Collaborate with cross functional teams to analyze design requirements, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to enhance manufacturability.
3. Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to component engineering and dfm to streamline processes and improve product quality.
4. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers to enhance their understanding of component engineering and dfm principles.
5. Evaluate existing designs to suggest modifications that will improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall manufacturability.
