Job Summary

Role Overview

The Tier‑1 MCAD Support Engineer (Siemens NX) provides first‑line technical support for Mechanical CAD (MCAD) systems using Siemens NX in an enterprise engineering environment. The role focuses on user onboarding, access provisioning, installation, licensing, environment configuration, basic NX usage support, and NX‑PLM (Teamcenter) connectivity. Issues beyond Tier‑1 scope are escalated to Tier‑2/Tier‑3 teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for Siemens NX user issues via ITSM tools (Jira)
  • Resolve common Tier‑1 issues:
    • NX application launch failures
    • Login and access problems
      • License checkout and expiration errors
    • Provide basic “how‑to” support for NX users:
      • 3D Parts Files
    • Assembly files
    • Drawing files
  • Install and configure approved Siemens NX versions per enterprise standards
  • Perform basic Siemens NX license diagnostics (FlexLM)
  • Validate workstation readiness (OS, graphics, memory, VPN)
  • Log, track, and update incidents using ITSM tool (Jira)
  • Support new mechanical engineer onboarding for Siemens NX

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge with the Operating systems Windows, Linux and Mac OS.
  • Experience with Networking and Software configuration Management.
  • Basic understanding of Siemens NX (Design and Drafting modules)
  • Basic familiarity with Teamcenter or PLM systems
  • Awareness of NX licensing concepts (node‑locked, floating)
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field (with equivalent hands‑on MCAD support experience)
  • 1- 4 years of experience IT Support / Siemens NX or PDM/PLM in engineering environment

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
2. Utilize mechanical design fundamentals to create innovative and efficient design solutions
3. Proficiently use cad design skills to develop detailed designs and technical drawings
4. Expertise in unigraphics nx to enhance product development and design processes
5. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration of design elements
6. Conduct design reviews, provide feedback, and implement necessary revisions
7. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies related to mechanical design fundamentals, cad design skills, and unigraphics nx
8. Mentor junior design team members and provide guidance on best practices

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in CAD Design Skills or Unigraphics NX are a plus

Minimum Salary (US):  80000

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
