Job Summary
JD for Mech Design Lead
General Profile: Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts
feasibility studies and testing new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the
preparation of detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and performance validation.
The primary focus of the position is
-To engage in design starting from design concept to commissioning, design calculations, material
selections
- To lead a team of designers, provide guidance, and ensure the delivery of high-quality design
solutions in alignment with the overall business goals
-to perform and document engineering tests, coordinate the procurement and assembly of
mechanical Components/equipment, and generate documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
To collaborate with key stakeholders, to understand business objectives and work with
them to integrate system design thinking into product development by Problem
identification and troubleshooting a wide range of diicult mechanical problems
To present design/analyze the concepts on mechanical systems, equipment and strategies
to stakeholders and gather feedback
Implementation of concepts for a variety of product issues and mechanical solutions.
Establishes standards across all operational processes
To stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies to drive innovation and excellence
in design
Must be able to engage with the organization’s formal SDLC Process teams and execute the
related processes

To oversee the design team, set design standards, contribute to the design strategy, and

Job Specific Knowledge:
Knowledge necessary to perform job include working knowledge of mechanical engineering design,
and material science concepts and techniques, including proficiency in solving engineering
problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge; basic knowledge of electrical
engineering; working knowledge of CAD tools like UG/NX; and basic knowledge of appropriate
materials, components and technologies used in the semiconductor equipment industry.
Skills:
• Requires strong skills in mechanical basics, system design, Design calculations & Engineering
change management, problem solving, communication skills, customer orientation, product
technology, global business perspective, personal eectiveness, project management, team skills
and quality
• Application Knowledge of GD&T, Design for Manuf & Assembly (DFMA), Root cause analysis
• Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as UG
/ / NX, AutoCAD, Oracle BOM, and/or Oracle ECO
• Advantage: Knowledge in ANSYS & CFD ACE+/Fluent
Educational Qualification:
• BE/ B. Tech (Mechanical Engg/Equivalent.) / ME/ M. Tech with any Mechanical Engg related
specialization.
Experience: 4 to 7 Years in the areas of Product Design & Development preferably with
Semiconductor, Medical and Aerospace domain.
Preferred candidates: From IIT / REC / NIT / Good Engineering Colleges

1. Utilize design for manufacturing & assembly (dfma) techniques to optimize product designs for efficient manufacturing and assembly processes.
2. Proficiently utilize cad design skills to create detailed design drawings and models.
3. Collaborate within team to ensure designs meet technical requirements and align with project timelines.
4. Apply creo software to develop innovative and functional product designs.
5. Conduct design reviews and provide recommendations for design improvements based on dfma principles.
6. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in design for manufacturing and assembly.
Skill Requirements
2. Proficiency in cad design skills, including creating 2d drawings and 3d models.
3. Experience with creo software for product design and development.
4. Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to optimize designs for production.
5. Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address design challenges effectively.
6. Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
