Senior Designer - 2D Drawing and Detailing

Job Summary

  • Engineer responsible for preparing, reviewing, and maintaining aerospace certification and compliance documentation.
  • The role involves evaluating engineering data, test reports, materials, and regulatory requirements to ensure product compliance with aviation standards and successful certification.
  • The engineer will collaborate with engineering, testing, and certification teams to deliver complete and traceable certification packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review certification documents including Flammability Statements, Compliance Reports, MITs, Technical Substantiation Reports, and related certification artifacts.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, material specifications, and test reports to identify certification and compliance requirements.
  • Verify compliance with applicable aviation regulations, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Review flammability, smoke, toxicity, heat release, and environmental qualification test reports and incorporate findings into certification packages.
  • Support certification activities by applying applicable Methods and Means of Compliance (MoC).
  • Ensure traceability between requirements, test evidence, certification documents, materials, and parts.
  • Create and maintain certification records, revision histories, approval documentation, and compliance matrices.
  • Coordinate with engineering, testing, and certification teams to resolve compliance issues.
  • Support certification deliverables and audits through accurate documentation and compliance tracking.
  • Maintain complete regulatory and customer compliance records throughout the product lifecycle.

Skill Requirements

  • Aerospace certification and compliance documentation experience.Strong understanding of aviation regulations and standards:
    • FAA 14 CFR Part 25
    • RTCA/DO-160
    • AMC 20-120
    • Boeing standards
    • Panasonic standards
    Ability to interpret:
    • Engineering drawings
    • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
    • Material specifications
    • Test reports
    Experience preparing and reviewing:
    • Flammability Statements
    • Compliance Reports
    • Material Identification Tables (MIT)
    • Technical Substantiation Reports
  • Knowledge of flammability, smoke, toxicity, heat release, and environmental qualification testing.
  • Understanding of Methods and Means of Compliance (MoC).
  • Requirements traceability and compliance matrix management.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and technical reporting skills.
  • Cross-functional coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
