Job Summary
Creation/maintaining/updating various Technical Publication manuals and the development of new and supplemental documents for current and future design projects
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for creation/maintaining/updating various Technical Publication manuals and the development of new and supplemental documents for current and future design projects.
- Review Special instructions prior to publishing to ensure Simplified Technical English guidelines are followed.
- Able to translate complex OEM documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals.
- Create high-quality technical illustrations and diagrams using industry-standard software (e.g., IsoDraw, Catia Composer, Catia, Tech Illustrator, etc.,).
- Interpret and translate complex technical information into visually appealing and easy-to-understand graphics.
- Maintain consistency in visual style, format, and branding across all illustrations and graphics.
Skill Requirements
- Work experience on Aircraft engine maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, Engine manuals and Shop manuals
- Knowledge on creation/revision of Service Bulletins, CMMs and IPC
- Able to read and comprehend engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, change orders, assembly floor sheets and other approved sources.
- Proficient with interactive electronic technical authoring languages and specifications such as XML, SGML.
- Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret Service Bulletins, Engine Manuals, Engineering Changes., AMM, CMM, and Airworthiness Directives.
- Able to translate complex OEM documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals.
- Familiar with S1000D, ATA 2200 and ATA100, and other aerospace publication specifications
- Familiar with common Engineering/Technical Authoring tools and computer applications such as Contenta, Catia
- Knowledge of AECMA Simplified Technical English
- Good communication skills (i.e., when speaking with engineers, maintenance SME's or pilots, be able to interpret their requirements into usable text)
- Must be able to work under pressure, relate to others and maintain flexibility with schedules of the department.
- Flexible to be on call and work outside of regular working hours to address any customer request.
- Be autonomous on daily complex duties.
- Minimal supervision
Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent discipline with
3 to 5 years’ experience as a technical writer/editor in the aviation, aerospace, or defence field
- Field Experience and experience in aerospace technical publications field will be an asset.
