Job Summary

Job Description – Wind Turbine Blades Design Engineer (Vestas – Creo/Windchill) Position Title: Design Engineer – Blades (Vestas Work Package) Location: Chennai / Bengaluru Experience Required: 4 – 8 Years Responsibilities Manage the Life Cycle Management sub module for blades, Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Design, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Construction, and Service to improve lifecycle Modelling components, composites, and assemblies. Handling and structuring large assembly models. Surface generation and updates. Interface checks and clearance analysis. DWG creation and updates. Laser file creation and updates. Composite Flat pattern generation and updates. Design and Review documents creation and updates. OSOS and CN implementation. PLM data management in Windchill Qualifications Bachelor / Master's in Mechanical / Aerospace / Materials Engineering / Similar specialization 4-7 years of experience in engineering roles in wind energy / composite structures / Non metal materials Experience in product lifecycle management or reliability engineering Effective communication and collaboration skills in a global, matrixed environment Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and facilitate decisions Competencies proficient understanding of blade lifecycle performance, including containment and prevention of quality issues, serviceability Cross-functional collaboration: effectively engages with Manufacturing, Service, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure alignment on lifecycle goals Experience with composite design Good experience in Creo surface modelling Good experience with PDM windchill Prefer

Key Responsibilities

1. Work closely with the engineering team to design components that meet the required specifications and functionality.
2. Conduct component engineering activities to ensure that components are efficient, reliable, and cost-effective.
3. Implement design for manufacturability (dfm) principles to streamline the production process and reduce manufacturing costs.
4. Collaborate within team to incorporate feedback and make necessary design adjustments.
5. Conduct design reviews and provide recommendations to improve component designs.
6. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to component engineering and dfm.

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in component engineering principles and practices.
2. Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability (dfm) techniques and methodologies.
3. Experience with cad software for component design and modeling.
4. Ability to analyze and optimize component designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
5. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
7. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple design projects simultaneously.
8. Adaptability to evolving project requirements and priorities.

Other Requirements

1.Certification in Component Engineering and/or Design for Manufacturability (DFM) is a plus.
