Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop EATS components, including:
- Mixers, DEF dosing modules, exhaust pipes, brackets, clamps, bellows, heat shields, and sensor bosses.
- Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings.
- Perform packaging studies to ensure proper installation.
- Select appropriate materials considering high-temperature operation, corrosion resistance, vibration, and durability.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, suppliers, purchasing, quality, and validation teams.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
- Review supplier drawings and approve design changes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Sheet metal design
- Welded assemblies
- High-temperature materials (stainless steel, aluminized steel)
- Exhaust system design principles
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with CAD software such as:
- Creo
- Windchill
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in exhaust system or underbody product design.
- Experience with emission system packaging and supplier coordination.
