Key Purpose of the Job:
Mechanical Designer is responsible for create/update components of Electromechanical system/subsystem and update drawings as per customer standards (European). Typically, low volume manufacturing items like machined, sheet metal parts, structural weldments, enclosure, gas lines, vacuum parts and assemblies. and proficient in CREO for modelling and drawings.
Should be able to independently interact with onsite for design clarifications and concept design support. Responsible for planning and executing design activities as per client timelines.
Mandatory Skills and Functional Capabilities:
- Ability to co-ordinate and communicate with respective customer stakeholders for concept design support
- Proficient in Creo CAD software - Must know all the best practices in modelling, assembly, and drawings. E.g. Layers, gd&t, parametric modelling
- Hands on experience in parts design and manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge in manufacturability considerations for Sheetmetal & weldments
- Experience in design & development of Electro Mechanical products and subsystem.
- Knowledge of clean room, vacuum system parts and sub module guidelines and know how’s of Automation and Transfer Module, process module and Gas and Vacuum lines
- Support for General Concept design of Automation and Transfer Module.
- Detailed Design of Automation and Transfer Module Concepts
- Interfaces between sub modules
- All part drawings using customer standard for vacuum parts
- Strong knowledge in manufacturability considerations for Plastic, Sheetmetal, Machined and structural Components
- Good understanding of OEM parts selection and understanding of mechanical interfaces
- Hands on experience in Windchill PDM / PLM for managing lifecycle of the components, managing ECO / ECR, creating EBOM in SAP.
- Create & review engineering drawings, understand GD&T principles, tolerance stack-up analysis, material selection & selection of manufacturing processes
- Disciplined team worker, ability to work independently, Result oriented team player.

3. Mentor Junior Designers By Sharing Knowledge And Expertise Through Training Sessions And Documentation, Fostering A Supportive Learning Environment.
4. Work With Cross-Functional Teams, Including Engineers And Product Managers, To Align Cad Designs With Overall Project Goals And Ensure Seamless Integration Into The Development Process.
5. Collaborate With Quality Assurance Teams To Establish And Maintain High-Quality Standards For Cad Designs, Conducting Design Reviews And Incorporating Feedback For Continuous Improvement.
Skill Requirements
2. Solid Understanding Of System And Equipment Design Principles, With The Ability To Apply Them In Practical Scenarios.
3. Familiarity With Design For Manufacturing And Assembly (Dfma) Principles To Optimize Design Efficiency.
4. Strong Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Diverse Stakeholders.
Other Requirements
1. Optional But Valuable: Certifications Such As Certified Solidworks Professional (Cswp) Or Autodesk Certified Professional In Autocad.
