Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our Engineering Services team. This role is central to the development and optimization of complex robotic and automated systems. You will be instrumental in driving projects from the initial concept phase through to final implementation, leveraging a multidisciplinary approach encompassing mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of robotic and electromechanical hardware from early conceptual ideation through detailed design, prototyping, and final hardware bring‑up. This includes translating high‑level functional requirements into robust, testable prototype hardware suitable for iterative development and validation. 

  • Apply a broad range of engineering disciplines—including mechanical, electrical, electronics, embedded systems, and software engineering—to evaluate the current state of robotic systems.  

  • Perform root cause analysis of technical issues, identify system inefficiencies, and propose design, performance, reliability, or manufacturability improvements across hardware and software boundaries. 

  • Clearly understand project goals and use sound engineering judgment to define the most effective development approach, milestones, resources, and execution plans. 

  • Support the integration of mechanical hardware with electronics, sensors, actuators, control systems, and embedded software.  

  • Participate in system‑level testing, debugging, and validation to ensure robotic platforms meet performance, safety, and operational requirements. 

  • Perform Engineering analysis and trade‑off studies 

  • Develop 3D CAD modeling and design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA) 

  • Creation of detailed engineering drawings and documentation 

  • Bill of Materials (BOM) generation and cost estimation 

  • Coordination with vendors and fabrication partners based on requirements

  • Prototype assembly, integration, and system bring‑up 

Skill Requirements

1. Strong Understanding Of Harness Design Principles And Standards.
2. Experience With Electrical Cabling And Schematics Relevant To Harness Development.
3. Familiarity With 3D Routing Software And Techniques.
4. Basic Knowledge Of Power Distribution Systems In Relation To Harness Design.
5. Proficient In Electro-Mechanical Packaging Considerations Pertinent To Harness Applications.

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering

  • Understanding of electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, gear trains, and structural components 

  • Working knowledge of electrical and embedded systems, including PCB interaction, power distribution, and basic firmware/software interfaces 

  • Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting 

  • Experience working with robotic platforms, subsystems, or automation equipment, including mobile robots, industrial robots, or custom robotic systems 

  • Experience with Robots in integrating sensors and communication for Teleoperation 

  • Experience integrating commercial off the shelf Robots using their proprietary APIs or SDKs 

  • Proficiency in ROS / ROS 2 (Robot Operating System) 

  • Programming Language expertise : Python & C++ 

  • Experience with Linux environments, Docker containerization, and CI/CD pipelines for deploying code to remote robot fleets 

  • Exposure to controls, PLCs or embedded control architectures is a strong advantage 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting, design reviews, and cross‑functional collaboration 

  • Ability to work closely with software engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and external vendors 

  • Good to have knowledge in mechanical design and 3D CAD (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or similar) 

  • Exposure to engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation 

  • Good to have understanding of robot mechanics, kinematics, motion systems, and system integration

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
