Job Summary
A CDS / SAP Datasphere Developer designs, builds, and maintains cloud-based data models, semantic layers, and data pipelines using SAP Datasphere (formerly Data Warehouse Cloud) and Core Data Services (CDS) views. They integrate SAP and non-SAP source systems to power enterprise analytics and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling: Build tables, SQL-based views, and transformations using the Datasphere Data Builder and Business Builder semantic layers
Data Integration: Set up and manage replication flows, remote tables, and data pipelines from sources like SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and external data lakes.
CDS Views: Create, consume, and optimize ABAP/SQL CDS views for high-performance data extraction.
Security & Governance: Implement Data Access Control (DAC), role-based permissions, and space management.
Analytics Collaboration: Connect Datasphere models with tools like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for dashboards and planning.
Skill Requirements
Experience: 4 to 6+ years in IT, with at least 2+ years hands-on in SAP Datasphere and cloud data warehousing.
Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in SQL, SAP HANA modeling, and Core Data Services (CDS).
Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP BW/4HANA, or cloud integration connectors.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
