Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Siemens Opcenter Developer to support MES delivery activities across design, configuration, development, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support. The resource should have hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter, manufacturing execution processes, shop-floor integration, SQL/database troubleshooting, and collaboration with business, IT, quality, automation, and vendor teams. The role will support project execution, production issue resolution, documentation, validation support, and continuous improvement of MES capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, develop, and support Siemens Opcenter MES solutions aligned to business and manufacturing requirements.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design, technical design, and solution review sessions.
  • Configure MES workflows, master data, operations, routings, work orders, equipment, materials, quality checks, and production execution rules as applicable.
  • Develop and support custom extensions, scripts, reports, interfaces, and integrations using approved technical standards.
  • Support integration between Siemens Opcenter and enterprise/shop-floor systems such as ERP, automation systems, equipment interfaces, databases, label systems, reporting tools, and middleware.
  • Troubleshoot MES application issues, transaction failures, data issues, interface errors, performance concerns, and production support incidents.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, configuration documents, interface specifications, test evidence, deployment notes, and support procedures.
  • Support unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, validation activities, cutover, deployment, and hypercare.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, automation, infrastructure, cybersecurity, business, IT, and vendor teams to ensure delivery alignment.
  • Provide regular status updates, risks, blockers, dependencies, and mitigation actions to the project owner.

Skill Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter MES, preferably Opcenter Execution Discrete, Opcenter Execution Foundation, or relevant Opcenter MOM modules.
  • Minimum 4–6 plus years of MES implementation, configuration, development, integration, or support experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing execution processes, production orders, routing, work instructions, material consumption, equipment integration, quality checks, genealogy, traceability, exceptions, and shop-floor operations.
  • Experience with SQL queries, database troubleshooting, data analysis, and production transaction issue resolution.
  • Experience with system integrations, APIs, middleware, equipment interfaces, OPC/automation integration, or ERP-to-MES interfaces.
  • Experience with programming or scripting technologies such as C#, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, VB.NET, or platform-specific extension frameworks is preferred based on project need.
  • Ability to support design, configuration, development, testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and production support activities.
  • Strong documentation skills for technical specifications, configuration guides, test scripts, deployment steps, and support handover materials.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments and following change control, validation, quality, cybersecurity, and documentation practices is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across business, IT, quality, automation, infrastructure, and vendor teams.

Other Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multi-site MES rollouts, upgrades, migrations, enhancements, or go-live readiness activities.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Opcenter architecture, deployment models, configuration management, security roles, and environment management.
  • Experience with integration patterns involving SAP/ERP, PLC/SCADA, OPC, middleware, reporting platforms, and data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0, digital manufacturing, IIoT, IT/OT integration, and manufacturing data analytics.
  • Experience supporting medical devices, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with Agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery models and working with global delivery teams.

Deliverables and Expectations

  • Complete assigned Siemens Opcenter design, configuration, development, testing, integration, deployment, and support activities as per agreed timelines.
  • Deliver technical documentation, configuration documentation, interface details, troubleshooting guides, and support handover materials.
  • Support MES incident analysis, root cause identification, corrective actions, and production stabilization activities.
  • Attend project meetings, technical design discussions, defect triage sessions, test reviews, deployment planning meetings, and status reviews.
  • Provide weekly progress updates with completed work, upcoming tasks, risks, dependencies, blockers, and support required.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality, compliance, security, validation, and documentation expectations.
