Job Summary

Key Responsibilities – SAP Functional Architect (L3/L4)

  • Lead end-to-end SAP solution architecture across ECC modules including PP, SD, MM, FI, and QM.
  • Conduct customer workshops and gather business requirements from stakeholders, business users, and third-party vendors.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable SAP functional and integration solutions.
  • Design and govern cross-functional business processes such as Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Quality Management, and Finance processes.
  • Drive solution blueprinting, fit-gap analysis, functional specifications, and high-level design documentation.
  • Define and oversee SAP integration solutions using PI/PO, CPI, IDOCs, RFCs, APIs, and third-party system integrations.
  • Collaborate closely with ABAP, Basis, Security, Integration, and Infrastructure teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Review technical designs and ensure alignment with functional requirements and architectural standards.
  • Lead defect resolution, testing support, deployment planning, and production stabilization activities.
  • Provide architectural guidance and governance during SAP implementation, enhancement, migration, and transformation programs.
  • Act as the primary customer-facing functional architect, managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating design decisions.
  • Support effort estimation, solution proposals, pre-sales activities, and delivery planning.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and integration impacts across SAP and non-SAP applications.
  • Mentor functional consultants and provide leadership to multi-disciplinary delivery teams.
  • Ensure compliance with project governance, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes covering:
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
    • Order-to-Cash (O2C)
    • Make-to-Produce (MTP)
    • Record-to-Report (R2R)
    • Quality Management

Required Experience

  • 12+ years of SAP experience with expertise across multiple functional modules.
  • Strong understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA business processes and integration architecture.
  • Proven experience working directly with customers in solution architecture and delivery leadership roles.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an onsite client-facing role in New Zealand.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • SAP Certification in one or more functional modules preferred.
  • SAP S/4HANA certifications desirable.

Key Responsibilities

1. To manages the overall ERP environment, including multiple modules and integrations.
2. To monitor occurrences of new software releases, support packs and kernel upgrades and how these affect the application and users.
3. Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and optimization across the ERP system, aligning with business goals.
4. To perform troubleshooting for complex technical issues at the ERP and database level.
5. To stay updated on emerging ERP technology trends and transfer knowledge to the team members.
