The Active Directory Administrator (L1) is responsible for providing first-level support for Active Directory services, user account management, access provisioning, group administration, and basic troubleshooting of authentication-related issues. The role ensures timely resolution of incidents and service requests while maintaining compliance with organizational security policies and SLA commitments. Key Responsibilities User & Group Administration Create, modify, disable, and delete Active Directory user accounts. Manage security groups and distribution groups. Reset passwords and unlock user accounts. Process onboarding, offboarding, and access-related requests. Update user attributes and account information as per approved requests. Incident & Service Request Management Handle AD-related incidents and service requests through the ticketing system. Troubleshoot basic authentication and login issues. Resolve account lockout and password-related incidents. Escalate complex issues to L2 teams when required. Ensure tickets are updated and resolved within SLA timelines. Active Directory Operations Perform routine checks on Active Directory services. Monitor account status and ensure adherence to account management policies. Support Organizational Unit (OU) administration activities. Assist in managing Group Policy-related requests as per predefined procedures. Security & Compliance Follow Identity and Access Management (IAM) procedures. Verify approvals before granting, modifying, or revoking access. Adhere to security, compliance, and audit requirements. Maintain confidentiality of user and system information. Documentation & Reporting Maintain records of user account and access management activities. Update knowledge base articles and operational documentation. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports as required. Required Technical Skills Core Skills Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory. Understanding of User and Group Management. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Windows Server environments. Familiarity with account administration and password management. Basic understanding of DNS and authentication concepts. Experience working with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or Jira. Preferred Skills Basic knowledge of Group Policy (GPO). Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Understanding of ITIL processes and service management concepts. Basic PowerShell knowledge is an advantage. Educational Qualification Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Microsoft Fundamentals certification is an added advantage. Experience 0–2 years of experience in Active Directory Administration, Service Desk, Windows Administration, or IT Infrastructure Support.
