Senior Group Technical Architect
United Kingdom
Job Description
Senior Group Technical Architect
Adur District, England

Job Summary

Senior Solution Architect (MDM) Location: Bristol or Manchester (onshore, office-based/hybrid per client policy — London-based candidates not eligible for this engagement) Seniority: Senior — c. 10+ years' relevant experience Role Overview We are looking for Senior Solution Architects to define and support Master Data Management (MDM) architecture and strategy, and to guide the technical design of cloud-based data products across two delivery teams. This role bridges hands-on architecture with practical delivery — candidates should be comfortable working closely with engineering teams, not just producing designs in isolation. Key Responsibilities • Define and support MDM architecture and strategy across the programme. • Assess and recommend commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) MDM products where appropriate, and design bespoke MDM solutions where not. • Lead MDM integration and implementation design across feature teams. • Design real-time data product patterns and ensure alignment with wider data architecture. • Provide architectural oversight and design assurance across the data product lifecycle — from ODP selection through build, testing, governance and go-live. • Work closely with engineering leads to ensure designs are practical, deliverable and consistent with enterprise standards. • Ensure solutions comply with applicable security, governance and architecture standards. Required Skills & Experience • Deep expertise in data architecture, including MDM strategy, solution selection, integration and implementation. • Strong understanding of GCP or comparable cloud data platforms. • Practical familiarity with dbt, Python and SQL-based data engineering (architecture-level, not necessarily daily hands-on coding). • Experience designing real-time data product patterns. • Track record operating in large, regulated enterprise environments (financial services experience is a strong plus, not mandatory). • Strong stakeholder and communication skills — able to work directly with delivery teams, not just produce documents. • Ready to mobilise quickly; profiles requiring extended notice periods are unlikely to be considered.
