Role Summary
Provide deep expertise across IBM DataStage design, optimization, governance, and modernization initiatives—ensuring high performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
• Design high-performance parallel jobs with optimal partitioning and buffering.
• Implement advanced transformations, error-handling, and restart-safe jobs.
• Tune APT configs, pipelines, and buffer settings for throughput and stability.
• Manage metadata, reusable components, and lineage tracking.
• Integrate DataStage with cloud DW/lakehouse platforms.
• Lead version upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Establish development standards, checklists, and review processes.
• Implement DQ validations, audit trails, and recovery workflows.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and lead RCAs.
• Train teams and maintain documentation/playbooks.
Requirements (Updated & Relevant)
• Mastery of DataStage PX, QualityStage, APT; strong SQL (Oracle/DB2/Snowflake).
• Strong UNIX/shell scripting, Git/CI-CD, and performance engineering background.
• Experience modernizing DataStage for cloud-native or hybrid environments.
Experience
7–12+ years focused on DataStage.

2. To bridge the gap between client needs and business goals by gathering requirements, crafting innovative solutions with deep domain/technology expertise, and driving successful implementations that propel strategic initiatives.
3. To ensure knowledge up-gradation and work with new technologies so that the solution is current and meets quality standards and the client requirements
4. To review architecture and design deliverables and ensure solutions adhere to industry best practices ,architectural standards simultaneously establish and enforce governance /compliance measures.
5. To train and develop team so as to ensure that there is an adequate supply of trained manpower in the said technology and delivery risks are mitigated
6. To submit Whitepapers, participate in industry forums and file Patents
