Job Summary

  • Skilled and experienced DB2 Database Administrator
  • Candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of DB2 databases across various environments.
  • Work with Application team, system administrators, and other stakeholders to for maintain data integrity, availability, and security of our data assets.
  • Expected to monitor DB performance, implement changes, and apply patches.
  • Candidate will be responsible for backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies.
  • Should have knowledge on troubleshooting database issues, optimizing queries, and supporting application development teams with database-related tasks.
  • Should have a strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and replication.
  • Experience with DB2 on both LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, automation tools, and monitoring solutions will be considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python)
  • Strong communication skills are essential

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures
  • Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures
  • Manage database security and user access controls
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries
  • Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and policies
  • Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
