Job Summary
To provide a full financial crime and information security advisory service to HCL IBS teams and clients that ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and to instil a compliant culture amongst HCLIBS employees.
To engage effectively in both L1 financial crime day to day operational activity and L2 regulatory compliance both internally and externally on behalf of HCL IBS’s Financial Crime Compliance Manager.
Achieve the successful provision of financial crime compliance and related information security controls for HCLIBS and its clients that provides assurance of full compliance with FCA and other relevant regulations and instil a compliant culture amongst HCLIBS employees.
Deputise on behalf of the HCL IBS’s Financial Crime Compliance Manager in all matters relative to financial crime and information security to ensure compliance in absence of their presence.
Key Responsibilities
Key tasks & responsibilities
• To act as deputy to the Financial Crime Compliance Manager as and when required.
• Recording, investigating and reporting any suspicious activities raised through the escalation process for prevention of financial crime and money laundering.
• Act as the primary line of support to India financial crime team and where required taking the lead on investigation of more complex financial crime cases/projects to inform potential onward escalations to the HCL IBS MLRO, Client(s) and/or appropriate regulatory or enforcement body.
• Liaising closely with and providing practical advice to the business and clients on all matters relating to compliance for matters of financial crime and information security.
• To approve relevant documents/procedures etc. on behalf of HCL-IBS or its clients in accordance with any applicable rules and / or regulation, ensuring such documents are clear, fair and not misleading.
• Attending monthly meetings with clients to discuss all financial crime and information security related matters as required by the Financial Crime Manager and/or MLRO.
• Reviewing and approving documents/procedures and training material that relate to financial crime and information security.
• Responsible for financial crime and information security horizon scanning control process by reviewing and summarising documents emanating from the Regulator (Financial Conduct Authority) and other bodies (Joint Money Laundering Steering Group, Financial Action Task Force, HM Treasury etc.). Investigating regulatory change processes where required to ensure HCL IBS’s regulatory compliance financial crime and information security controls, policies and procedures remain updated and sufficiently fit for purpose.
• To assist the Financial Crime Compliance Manager with oversight of HCL IBS’s AML screening and ID&V controls including but not limited to: sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs) and adverse media/negative news (SIP) screening process.
• Designing, producing and providing management information both to the business and HCL IBS clients on all matters relating to financial crime and information security.
• To undertake any other activities under the direction of the Financial Crime Compliance Manager and to support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for HCLIBS.

• Proficient in all Microsoft applications with particular focus on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Good working knowledge of other bodies involved in the financial crime prevention / anti money laundering arena.
• Awareness of risk management and audit controls.
• General awareness of industry best practice in compliance such as industry initiatives.
• Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) - Excel macro function design
• Structured Query Language (SQL)

• Educated to a high standard
• Holding a professional qualification in regulatory compliance and/or financial crime/money laundering or working towards a professional qualification relevant to the role.

Experience
• Experience in the retail Financial Services Industry dealing with financial crime prevention / anti money laundering.
• Regulatory compliance experience gained through direct exposure to dealing with regulatory matters in retail Financial Services Industry.
