Job Summary

The Senior Business Manager serves as the operational and financial leader for engineering organizations, partnering with technical leaders to drive business planning, budget management, workforce strategy, vendor governance, and operational excellence. This role enables engineering teams to execute strategic priorities while ensuring compliance, financial accountability, and effective resource management

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budget Management

  • Lead annual and quarterly budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Manage operating expenses, project investments, and headcount budgets.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to engineering leadership.
  • Develop business cases supporting strategic investments and initiatives.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Own vendor engagement strategy, SOW governance, procurement processes, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely onboarding, renewals, and compliance.
  • Drive supplier relationship management and vendor negotiations. [office.com]

Workforce & Resource Planning

  • Manage headcount planning, staffing strategies, and workforce forecasting.
  • Coordinate resource allocation across programs and engineering initiatives.
  • Support onboarding and organizational growth initiatives.

Business Operations & Governance

  • Establish operational rhythms, business reviews, and executive reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency across teams.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procurement controls, and financial governance requirements.

Program & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with engineering leaders, finance, HR, procurement, and external suppliers.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across multiple organizations.
  • Facilitate strategic planning discussions and execution tracking.

Present recommendations and status updates to senior leadership

Other Requirements

  • Advanced analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.

Minimum Salary (US):  118000

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
