Job Summary

SAP IBP Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solutions to support end-to-end supply chain planning processes. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, supply chain teams, and IT organizations to translate business requirements into scalable SAP IBP solutions covering Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Optimization, Response Planning, and S&OP. The Architect leads solution design, integration strategy, data modeling, governance, and best practice adoption while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives. The position also provides technical leadership, drives digital supply chain transformation initiatives, and ensures successful delivery of SAP IBP implementations and enhancements across global organizations.

Key Responsibilities

. Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design end-to-end SAP IBP solution architecture.
  • Define planning models, master data structures, and planning areas.
  • Develop scalable and future-ready supply chain planning solutions.
  • Create architecture blueprints and design documents.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

2. Business Process Transformation

  • Analyze current supply chain planning processes.
  • Recommend best-practice SAP IBP solutions.
  • Conduct process workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Drive transformation in:
    • Demand Planning
    • Supply Planning
    • Inventory Planning
    • S&OP / IBP for Sales & Operations
    • Response & Supply Planning (RSP)

3. SAP IBP Implementation Leadership

  • Lead SAP IBP implementation projects.
  • Manage design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare phases.
  • Provide guidance to consultants and development teams.
  • Review and approve functional and technical designs.

4. Integration Architecture

  • Design integrations between:

    • SAP IBP and SAP S/4HANA
    • SAP ECC
    • SAP APO (Migration scenarios)
    • SAP BW/4HANA
    • SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration)
    • Third-party ERP and planning systems

  • Define data flow architecture and integration strategies.

5. Data Modeling & Configuration

  • Design:

    • Planning Areas
    • Master Data Types
    • Key Figures
    • Attributes
    • Time Profiles
    • Planning Levels

  • Optimize calculations and planning performance.

  • Ensure data quality and governance.

6. Stakeholder Management

  • Work with:

    • Supply Chain Leaders
    • Business Process Owners
    • IT Teams
    • Program Managers
    • System Integrators

  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Present architecture decisions to senior management.

7. Performance Optimization & Governance

  • Monitor IBP system performance.
  • Implement planning model optimization strategies.
  • Define governance processes and architecture standards.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and audits.

8. Migration & Upgrade Strategy

  • Lead migration initiatives:

    • APO to IBP
    • Legacy planning systems to IBP

  • Evaluate new SAP IBP releases and capabilities.

  • Recommend adoption roadmap.

9. Risk Management

  • Identify project and technical risks.
  • Propose mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with security and governance requirements.

10. Team Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor SAP IBP consultants and analysts.
  • Establish implementation best practices.
  • Support capability development within the organization.
