We are seeking a seasoned SAP Senior Project Manager with strong expertise in both Greenfield and Brownfield SAP implementations within the Steel Manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have successfully led end-to-end SAP projects in complex manufacturing environments, driving digital transformation, process optimization, and system integration across core modules such as SAP S/4HANA, PP, MM, QM, SD, PM, FI/CO, and EWM.

This role involves leading large-scale SAP initiatives for steel plants, managing multi-site rollouts, and ensuring seamless transition from legacy systems while aligning with industry-specific requirements like production planning for continuous casting, quality management for metallurgy, supply chain for raw materials (iron ore, coal, scrap), and compliance with Indian statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead full lifecycle SAP implementations (Greenfield) and system conversions/enhancements (Brownfield) for steel manufacturing clients.

Manage project scope, budget, timeline, resources, risks, and quality using standard PM methodologies (PMBOK, ASAP, Activate).

Work closely with business stakeholders, plant heads, functional leads, and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions tailored to steel industry processes (e.g., Make-to-Order, repetitive manufacturing, batch management, traceability, and by-product handling).

Oversee module integration including S/4HANA Finance, Manufacturing (PP/DS), Supply Chain (MM, WM/EWM, TM), Quality Management (QM), and Sales & Distribution (SD).

Drive change management, user training, and adoption across shop-floor and corporate teams.

Ensure compliance with Indian tax laws (GST, TDS), statutory reporting, and industry standards (BIS, ISO).

Manage vendor relationships, offshore-onsite delivery models, and third-party integrations (MES, LIMS, IoT for plant automation).

Conduct project reviews, steering committee meetings, and deliver executive-level status reports.

Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and post-go-live optimization.

Mentor junior project managers and functional consultants.
Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production), MBA, or equivalent. PMP / SAP Certified Project Manager preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Experience:
-
10–12 years of hands-on SAP Project Management experience.
-
Minimum 3–4 full lifecycle implementations (Greenfield) and 2–3 Brownfield / S/4HANA conversion projects, preferably in Steel / Metals / Heavy Manufacturing industry.

Strong exposure to steel manufacturing processes: Blast Furnace, Sponge Iron, Rolling Mills, Continuous Casting, TMT bars, HR/CR coils, etc.

Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-site SAP projects on time and within budget in Indian manufacturing setups.

Experience with SAP S/4HANA (mandatory), ECC 6.0, and integration with non-SAP systems.
Essential Skills & Competencies

Deep functional knowledge of SAP modules relevant to steel industry (PP, MM, QM, SD, FI/CO, PM).

Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills in matrix organizations.

Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, and finance in the steel sector.

Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, SAP Solution Manager, Azure DevOps).

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills (English, Telugu preferred & Hindi ).

Ability to handle high-pressure environments and travel to plant locations across India.
