Job Summary
We are seeking a GIS IT Support Engineer with 2–3 years of experience in Enterprise GIS administration and technical support. The candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise infrastructure, GIS applications, spatial databases, and end users across the organization.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in ArcGIS Enterprise administration, GIS server management, performance troubleshooting, and supporting production GIS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise environments
- Administer ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, and Web Adaptors
- Monitor system health, logs, and service availability
- Perform routine maintenance, backups, and disaster recovery activities
- Assist in system upgrades, patching, and security hardening
- Work with ITSM tools like ServiceNow for incident, service request, and change management
- Follow ITIL processes and support 24x7 production environments (preferred)
- Support Enterprise Geodatabases using PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server
- Maintain GIS infrastructure documentation and SOPs
- Document troubleshooting procedures, solutions, and RCA findings
- Ensure GIS systems comply with organizational security and standards
Skill Requirements
- Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal, Data Store)
- Knowledge of GIS platform installation, patching, and upgrades
- Experience with user access, security, and Portal administration
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python / automation jobs)
- Experience with data integration, job scheduling, and monitoring
- Knowledge of incident management & ticketing tools (ServiceNow)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and RCA skills with SLA awareness
Other Requirements
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise HA (High Availability) architecture
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and log analysis
- Experience supporting utility, telecom, oil & gas, or government GIS projects
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
